Sheldon School – New Canteen

The project was difficult due to the tight working area within the school grounds, with the safety of the school occupants highest on the list of priorities for both Steele Davis and the client.

The form of construction was strip foundations and steel portal frame with brick and Cedar cladding to the outside, the main entrance to the building was a set of automated aluminium doors and the windows had a timber internal frame and aluminium external skin.

The portal frame was constructed from Glulam Beams with stainless steel tie bars and joints, the internal cladding to the walls was an acoustic boarding to help the sound reverberation within the dining area.
